Key findings
Fictional satire: these points describe the article’s themes and imagined scenes, not actual statements, verified events, or findings of wrongdoing.
- A customer-supplied poem describes investment losses and contrasts two projects. Its figures and refund comparison are the customer's account, not independently verified findings.
- The house and cat are metaphors, not an accusation of theft. The imagined dialogue raises questions about listings, venture backing and access to remedies without establishing misconduct or liability.
- The closing demand is for disclosure, listing checks and answers—not threats or crowd action. Actual rights depend on applicable terms, law and circumstances.
A poem from a customer. The house and the cat are a metaphor, not an accusation of theft.
I bought the token Coinbase listed
And trusted what the shelf implied.
Three hundred fifty thousand in.
Ninety-nine percent has died.
The builder’s pitch was gentle:
Steady yield, real work behind the door.
The ledger later told another tale
Of loans that came back no more.
The builder had a second house
With a yield of eleven to sixteen on the door.
That house is handing back its keys.
The first one is no more.
Same builders, different building.
One refunds. One’s left on the shelf.
I won’t say what was known or hidden.
I’ll ask what they owed their own.
The gatekeeper backed the builder,
Then hung the welcome sign.
“We only mind the doorway,”
It says, and stays behind the line.
A pitch is not a working lock.
A listing is not a shield.
You can’t sell trust at the front gate
Then disown what’s left of the field.
“It’s arm’s length, not our house.”
But a listing still invites you in.
So what did you check before the sign?
And where does your duty begin?
“Take it to arbitration,”
Says the voice behind the wall.
No face, no name, no answer,
Just a script to end the call.
I kept the receipts and the records,
The terms from that same day.
Not to chase, not to threaten.
Just so the questions can’t be waved away.
So who will bell the Coinbase cat?
Not me, and not the crowd.
Disclose the stakes. Show the checks.
And answer, out loud.
Editorial context and legal limits
This customer-supplied poem expresses a personal account and editorial opinion through a house-and-cat metaphor. It is not an allegation that Coinbase committed theft. The dialogue is imagined, not a verified quotation or an admission by Coinbase or any other party.
The investment amount, percentage decline, yield range, loan outcomes and comparison between the two “houses” are statements in the customer's supplied account. Supporting transaction records, dated price calculations, loan ledgers and refund terms were not independently reviewed for this update. The poem does not establish that the products, portfolios, customers or refund rights are comparable, or that every customer experienced the same outcome. Token-market losses, borrower defaults, refunds and theft are distinct matters.
Listing decisions, venture investments, token ownership and token sales are also different matters. The demands for disclosure and checks are questions about accountability, not assertions that undisclosed holdings, insider sales, fraud, market manipulation or another crime occurred. Putting a claim in question form does not automatically make an unsupported implication accurate or legally safe. A platform listing is not a guarantee of token value; a customer's loss alone does not establish a legal duty or its breach.
The call for answers means lawful, evidence-based scrutiny. It does not mean threats, harassment, publishing personal information, violence or cruelty to animals.
Arbitration is used as an editorial theme about access to remedies. The poem is not a statement that every Coinbase dispute must proceed alone, that every arbitration is secret, that a customer necessarily pays all costs, or that an outcome is predetermined. Applicable terms, exceptions, enforceability and available remedies depend on the agreement, jurisdiction and circumstances.
For the actual terms relevant to a dispute, consult the Coinbase legal agreements page and the version applicable to your account and date—not the imagined dialogue above. No agreement or particular case has been analyzed here. Signing a risk disclosure neither proves misconduct nor, by itself, resolves every possible legal claim.
This is opinion and satire, not a finding of wrongdoing or investment or legal advice. Obtain independent legal review before relying on this piece to frame a complaint or public allegation.
